A compressed air energy storage project in Henan Province is a national pilot demonstration project for new energy storage technologies. As the most technologically advanced artificial cavern compressed air energy storage facility, it is scheduled for completion and commissioning by the end of 2025. Upon completion, the project will generate approximately 420 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, sufficient to meet the yearly electricity demand of 350,000 households while significantly enhancing the stability of the regional power grid.

China Railway 15th Bureau Group's air energy storage project in Henan Province employs a face drill rig WD200E on-site, capable of performing dual operations for both drilling and bolting operation. The tunnel cross-section requires approximately 136 holes, each averaging 5 meters in depth. Drilling operations per shift average 3 hours, with blasting advancing 4.8 meters per shift. The equipment achieves an average monthly excavation of over 144 meters and completes approximately 5,000 meters of anchor rod work per month. The face drill rig WD200E's dual-function capability for both advance holes and anchor holes enables a highly efficient “one machine, multiple uses” construction model, significantly shortening the construction cycle.

Single-hole drilling speed is 5-6 times faster than manual pneumatic drills, significantly boosting drilling efficiency;

Computer-controlled system enables self-balancing boom operation and displays the angle of the thrust beam, effectively controlling excavation shape and minimizing over/under-excavation.
