With the promotion of the national dual carbon strategy, pumped storage power stations, as an important infrastructure for clean energy, have developed rapidly. During the construction process of a pumped storage hydropower station tunnel group, there are difficulties such as multiple types of tunnel sections, multiple turning sections within the tunnel with small turning radii, a large amount of anchor rod construction, low degree of mechanized construction, and high intensity of manual operation.


Traditional construction machinery cannot meet the construction needs of tunnel groups. In order to solve the problem of mechanization in tunnel groups, Wuxin Equipment has successively launched a complete set of intelligent construction equipment for tunnel groups, which can cover all types of tunnel sections in pumped storage power stations, such as outlet tunnels, diversion tunnels, tailrace tunnels, ventilation tunnels, traffic tunnels, safety tunnels, main and auxiliary power plants, main transformer tunnels, tailgate tunnels, construction support tunnels, exploration tunnels, spillway tunnels, and drainage corridors.

1、Drilling and blasting construction

The tunnel section above 5m*5m can be drilled and blasted by double curved-arm rock drilling trolley. The operator operates the remote control of the double curved-arm rock drilling trolley, drills the holes according to the paw-paw surface, and adjusts the propelling beam's attitude to control the over- and under-excavation efficiently. The double curved arm rock drill trolley is small in size, easy to transfer, and has strong adaptability of equipment section, which can meet the construction of 5*5 metres or more holes in the tunnel, and can pass through all the turning sections in the tunnel smoothly; only two people can operate it, which reduces the safety risk. The double curved arm rock drill trolley completely solves the problem that traditional straight arm rock drill trolley can not adapt to the construction of multiple types of sections and can not pass through the turning section.



● Exploration holes, flood relief holes, drainage corridors, etc. with section below 5m*5m can adopt small section boring trolleys, which have small dimensions and can meet the minimum working section of 1.9m*1.9m, and can also be used for anchor construction of TBM section. The construction speed is fast, and the monthly footage can reach 300m.



2、Charging and blasting

The operator of the Platform Lifter operate their own platform to move flexibly, the use of equipment with air compressor, to achieve the clearing operation, and quickly complete the palm face drilling and blasting hole charging. After blasting, with the help of excavators, loaders, dump trucks to complete the slag. Vertical arch charging trolley can satisfy the charging operation of 5*5 metres or more holes in the tunnel.


3、Anchor construction

The Platform Lifter is put into position, and the rock drilling arm comes with the equipment is used to complete the anchor hole operation. After the drilling is completed, the grouting of the anchor holes and the installation of the anchors can be completed with the help of the platform of the vertical arch charging trolley, and the installation of the reinforcement mesh in the cavern can be completed as well. During the construction, when the weak surrounding rock section needs to set up the arch frame, the arch charging trolley can be used to complete the prefabrication and installation of the arch frame. Vertical arch charging trolley can meet the needs of anchor hole operation, grouting, anchor installation, mesh hanging and arch installation in the tunnel, which is a multi-functional machine to meet the needs of synchronous operation of multiple processes in the tunnel.




●Some of the tunnels with small turning radius and small section can adopt curved arm anchor trolley for anchor hole operation, and the cloud monitoring platform records the construction data in real time, which is convenient to supervise the anchor construction. Face Drill Rig, with small size and wide coverage area of curved-arm structure, can cover all sections of anchor and boring hole work above 5*5m in the tunnel.



4、Concrete spraying construction

The shotcrete machine is operating, the operator through the remote control to control the operation of the robot, the pre-mixed concrete sprayed to the design thickness. Wuxin concrete shotcrete truck can cover all section types of shotcrete construction in the tunnel.



5. Lining construction

The automatic pouring pin beam trolley is in place, the concrete is supplied by the concrete tanker and the trailing pump, and the concrete placing system conveys the concrete to each pouring window. During the construction, the side moulds are poured layer by layer and window by window according to the sequence from left to right and from bottom to top; after the side moulds are completed, the concrete is switched to the arch window for pouring. Layer-by-window pouring technology completely solves the phenomena of segregation and herringbone slope cold joints in the process of concrete pouring, and improves the intrinsic quality of concrete pouring.


6、Second lining maintenance

The Digital Maintenance Trolley is operating, according to the set time and frequency of maintenance, maintenance data automatically recorded, transferred to the Uniroc's app, generate construction log.


The wide application of all-process mechanised construction equipment of pumped storage power station tunnels overcomes the problem of traditional equipment not being able to adapt to the mechanised construction of multi-cross-section tunnels, and completely solves the drawbacks of traditional construction equipment such as poor adaptability of cross-section, poor adaptability of work method, poor turning ability, etc., and can meet the majority of the types of cross-section mechanised construction with a single machine.
